A head-turning statistic surrounding the latest performance of Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has come to the fore online.
This comes fresh off the German playing his part in a rare Blaugrana defeat.
Hansi Flick’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming Villarreal to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.
With his side’s status as Spanish champions already secured, Hansi Flick opted for several changes to his starting XI, with one such alteration having come between the posts.
In a bid to afford Wojciech Szczęsny some well-earned rest, the aforementioned Marc-André ter Stegen returned to starting duties for the evening on Sunday.
And though the 33-year-old was not majorly at fault for any of Villarreal’s three goals, Ter Stegen did not exactly cover himself in glory, either.
Such efforts, as alluded to above, have since culminated in something of a concerning statistic surfacing online, surrounding the goalkeeper’s save statistics.
Over the course of the 90 minutes against Villarreal, Ter Stegen conceded a trio of goals, without producing a single save.
