Jeremie Frimpong appears to be just a medical away from leaving Bayer Leverkusen, with Liverpool reportedly prepared to trigger the €40 million release clause in his contract.
Speaking to Kicker, Bayer Leverkusen’s managing director for sport, Simon Rolfes, acknowledged that Frimpong will likely be on the move.
“It’s no secret that he has a release clause and that there’s interest – perhaps from England, perhaps from Liverpool. We’ll see what happens, but it’s quite possible that Jerry will leave this summer,” Rolfes said.
However, he emphasized that nothing has been finalized yet.
“A medical is a medical. Nothing is final. I’ve been informed about some things, we’re all informed about some things. So yes, it could happen. Let’s wait and see.”
