Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Stefano Pioli’s Milan future: “He must continue doing what he is doing”

Milan and RedBird consultant Zlatan Ibrahimovic has stated that managed Stefano Pioli has to keep doing what he is doing to stay at the club beyond this season.

Pioli’s future at the Rossoneri is still uncertain as the club have been linked with a host of names in recent months. Speculation about his future was much more strife after the club got knocked out of the Champions League but they have recovered in the league and seem destined for a top four finish.

Ibrahimovic, who is said to have a keen eye on ex-Inter and Tottenham boss Antonio Conte, recently spoke about Pioli’s future. He was present in Jeddah ahead of the Saudi GP and he spoke to Sky Italia (via TMW) about the future of the Rossoneri manager and what he must do to stay beyond this season.

“What is needed for the reconfirmation? He must continue as he’s doing, he’s doing a good job and we’re happy with him.”

Ibrahimovic donned the role of a consultant fairly recently and his influence seems to have grown and he is someone that Gerry Cardinale trusts a lot.

On his new role, Ibrahimovic said: “I’m feeling good. I’m growing, I’m learning and working. One day at a time and I’m always making steps forward and I’m always improving. But it’s good, I like it, I like this responsibility and I want to give as much as possible to Milan.”
