RB Leipzig have announced that Yussuf Poulsen is expected to be sidelined until September.
Poulsen was forced off with an adductor injury after coming on for Denmark against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League on June 10.
A new MRI scan has now shown that the injury is more severe than first thought.
“Of course I’m frustrated with the injury setback and the long time out. I was really looking forward to the new season again after our cup win,” said Yussuf Poulsen.
“I will use the time to come back and be at 100% as quickly as possible. At the same time, I will undergo a complete check-up to minimize the risk of future injury as much as possible. Until then, I will support the team as best I can off the pitch.”
