Paris Saint-Germian will look to sell Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes (28) during next summer’s transfer window, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
The 2022 World Cup winner is nearing the end of a season on loan at Juventus, but the 2022 World Cup winner still has a year left on his contract with PSG. A purchase option was included in the loan move. Paredes would like the Serie A side to trigger it. “I am happy. I don’t know if I’m staying, but I’m hoping we’ll find the best solution for everyone. Personally, I’m happy in Turin, my family too, so we want to stay at Juventus,” he told Dazn earlier this month.
However, Juventus believe the cost of the transfer, as well as his €9m wage demands, are too high relative to his on-pitch contributions. Paredes has scored one goal and registered two assists in 34 games for Massimiliano Allegri’s side. However, he has started only 13 games this season.
Paredes’ parent club PSG believe that Paredes will eventually return to the French capital. The sporting hierarchy at Les Parisiens wants rid of Paredes, whose relationships with Kylian Mbappé (24) and Achraf Hakimi (24) are reportedly rather cold. The Argentine is not the only PSG loanee whose sale will be seen as a priority next summer. Julian Draxler (29), Georginio Wijnaldum (32) and Layvin Kurzawa (30) have also been deemed surplus to requirements.
