Germany’s main sporting tabloid reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in picking up Mainz fullback Aaron Martin on a free.

Spanish left-back Aaron Martin’s departure on an expiring contract this summer is already confirmed. While the 26-year-old is thought to favor a return to his native country, at least one top-tier German side might try and persuade him to remain in the Bundesrepublik. Germany’s “Sport Bild” newspaper reports that Eintracht Frankfurt would like to snap him up on a free.
Frankfurt does already have two experienced left-backs in the squad in the form of Christopher Lenz and Philipp Max. One or the other would certainly have to be offloaded in order to make room for the Spaniard. Martin’s current German league campaign has been an major success, despite the fact that he has occasionally lost his place in Bo Svensson’s XI to Anthony Caci.
Martin has netted five tallies and chipped in a further three assists for “die Nullfünfter” this season. His current estimated market worth is €7 million. The Sport Bild report notes that Martin also has options in the Serie A and LaLiga. Some other unnamed Bundesliga sides are also keeping tabs on him, per the tabloid.
