According to a report from Foot Mercato, Sevilla are interested in signing Himad Abdelli (26) from Angers on a free transfer. The Algerian international midfielder’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and will be free to discuss a potential pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs when the transfer window re-opens in January.
Abdelli has impressed in Ligue 1 this season. However, his exploits haven’t been enough to impress those at the international level. The 26-year-old hasn’t been called up for the upcoming AFCON, which will be a massive boost for Angers in their bid to secure survival. Nevertheless, the question about his long-term future will still be a concern for those at the Stade Raymond Kopa.
Abedlli to Sevilla?
Although the midfielder has been unable to impress Vladimir Petković enough to convince him that he deserves to play at AFCON, the La Liga club are convinced he has the quality to make a difference for them. The Andalusian outfit are keen on recruiting the playmaker and could open talks over a free transfer.
