Clean bill of health at AS Monaco ahead of Ligue 1 return

AS Monaco had to contend with plenty of absentees heading into the international break, however, upon their return from it, the club have a clean bill of health, as confirmed by Filipe Luís.

The likes of Folarin Balogun, Takumi Minamino, Mohammed Salisu, Mamadou Coulibaly, Jordan Teze, Ansu Fati, and Stanis Idumbo were either just returning from injuries or had yet to do so. There was also concern surrounding Aleksandr Golovin, who returned early from international duty with Russia with a minor injury.

However, speaking in a press conference attended by Get French Football News, Luís said that there are no players unavailable for Saturday’s game against Toulouse FC.

Balogun ‘totally ready to play’, says Luís

“As far as I know, everyone is available. There have been three weeks of full training with the team. Stanis and Mamadou are back in training, too. It is very good news for us,” said the Monaco manager.

Balogun, who returned just before the international break, in the 2-1 win over RC Lens, could also be in line for more minutes. The USMNT forward didn’t have a pre-season due to an injury sustained at the FIFA World Cup. “Finally, he is back. He is feeling very good about the hit that he took at the World Cup. He could have time to play; he is totally ready to play,” said Luís.
