Carlo Ancelotti has named his team for Tuesday evening’s match against Braga in the Champions League, as Real Madrid look to go three for three in this season’s competition. However, the Italian will not have striker Joselu Mato at his disposal, as he is a late casualty for the match in Portugal.
In an official statement, Real Madrid confirmed that Joselu will miss the match against Braga due to illness, having contracted the flu.
“Joselu is not available for tonight’s match between Braga and Real Madrid, corresponding to matchday three of the Champions League. The striker is out at the last minute due to a flu process.”
Joselu had initially been named on the bench for the match against Braga, so losing him so late is a blow for Real Madrid, who now do not have a natural striker in their squad. Ancelotti will hope that it does not cost his side in their pursuit of continuing their 100% record in this season’s Champions League.
