VfB Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat’s future at Mercedes-Benz Arena remains uncertain.
As reported by Sport Bild, Mislintat is demanding a position on the board to extend his contract with Stuttgart, which expires in 2023.
The reason is that the 49-year-old wants to distance himself more clearly from Christian Gentner, who is being installed as the new head of the licensed player department.
Earlier this month, Stuttgart chairman Alexander Wehrle apologized to Mislintat for not involving him in the appointment of Gentner.
“In hindsight, it would certainly have been better to involve Markus Rüdt and Sven Mislintat at an early stage,” Wehrle said.
“This has been discussed and cleared up with Sven.”
