Marseille remain in talks with Norwich City FC for the signing of English winger Jonathan Rowe (21), according to a report this Wednesday from La Provence. The outlet even understands that Les Phocéens have progressed in their quest to sign Rowe with both clubs’ stances reportedly getting closer to each other. Marseille previously submitted an opening bid to their EFL Championship counterparts. Rowe is entering his final contract year with the Carrow Road side.
Foot Mercato reported on Tuesday that Marseille’s Ligue 1 rivals AS Monaco were also in the race to sign Rowe, adding that Les Monégasques are the most insistent party in the matter. But Adi Hütter’s side must first sell one of their players to free up a non-EU spot in their squad. The 21-year-old Rowe impressed last season, logging 13 goals and four assists with the Canaries. Norwich reportedly set a €15m price tag to acquire the English winger’s services.
