Mainz center-back Alexander Hack is suspended two games after he held forward Georgino Rutter in the penalty box on Saturday. A straight red was given just before halftime, but Andrej Kramaric ended up missing the penalty in Hoffenheim’s 4-1 win.
It’s likely that if Kramaric had scored that penalty, the DFB would have only awarded Hack a one-game suspension. Now, he’ll make his return in October after missing Mainz’s upcoming games against Hertha BSC and SC Freiburg.
