La Liga: 3 things from Sunday’s action

Matchday 25 in La Liga takes place across four days this weekend and we take a look at three things from Sunday’s action.

1) Raphinha scores for Barcelona at San Mamés

Raphinha scored his ninth goal of the season as Barcelona ran out 1-0 winners over Athletic Club at San Mamés to move nine points clear of Real Madrid in second place. The Brazilian forward is now the club’s second-highest scorer this season, after Robert Lewandowski, who has netted 25 times for the Blaugrana.

2) Borja equals record

With his 11th goal of the season for Real Betis, Borja Iglesias equalled his top-flight record for goals scored in a single season as Betis played out a 1-1 draw with Villarreal. It was the striker’s 150th match for the Andalusian club; he has 46 goals and 10 assists for Betis.

3) Sevilla pick up a much-needed win

Sevilla recorded a vital victory over Almería earlier in the day to move away from the relegation zone. The three points take Jorge Sampaoli’s side to 13th in the table. They have 28 points from 25 games in what has been a hugely disappointing season and are still just two points above Valencia and Getafe in 17th and 18th place respectively.
