Umut Tohumcu has signed a new long-term contract with TSG Hoffenheim.

The 19-year-old’s contract, which was due to expire in 2026, has been extended by two years until 2028.

“Umut is another prime example of TSG’s approach to identifying young talent and developing them into professional footballers through our own academy. He is a player with enormous potential who has already shown remarkable performances in the Bundesliga in recent months,” said Hoffenheim managing director Alexander Rosen.

“Umut can play a central role in our team in the future and has a great future ahead of him if he continues to work as tirelessly as he has so far. That’s why it was important for us to send out this signal and extend his contract by two years at an early stage.”

Tohumcu has started two league games in a row for Hoffenheim.
