Rune Jarstein was suspended for Matchday 2 after criticizing goalkeeper coach Andreas Menger in a training session. The 37-year-old’s contract (expiring in 2023) with Hertha BSC could be terminated as a result of his actions. Per Bild, it’s likely that a new keeper will join on loan as the club’s new no. 2.
Jarstein reportedly complained about Hertha’s training sessions and lack of communication. The Norwegian has been at the club since 2014, accumulating 179 competitive appearances.
Oliver Christensen is currently Hertha’s first-choice keeper, as Alexander Schwolow is on loan at Schalke.
