Despite the transfer window closing across most major European leagues on Monday, Lille OSC are still planning to let one last player leave their squad. According to a report from Foot Mercato, Les Dogues have received offers from unnamed clubs for midfielder André Gomes (32).
The former Everton man rejoined Lille last summer as a free agent (having spent a loan spell at the club in the 2022/23 campaign), but has found his talents were made surplus to requirements ahead of this season, with Bruno Génésio’s squad well-stocked in midfield, boasting Benjamin André, Ngal’ayel Mukau, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Nabil Bentaleb, and Ugo Raghouber.
In a clear sign of what is to come, Gomes has been left out of Lille’s UEFA Europa League squad as they prepare for a future without the Portuguese international. The midfielder has entered the final year of his two-year contract, and Lille will be keen to sell now or lose him for free next summer.
