Manchester United could be facing a tough time negotiating with Brighton this summer if they do decide to pursue a transfer move for Alexis Mac Allister.
The Argentina international has shone with Brighton and played a key role in helping his country win the World Cup in December, so it’s not too surprising to see that there could be plenty of interest in him in the summer.
According to Ben Jacobs in his exclusive CaughtOffside column, Man Utd are among the clubs to be eyeing up Mac Allister, and they’ve discussed him internally.
Elaborating further on Mac Allister’s future, Fabrizio Romano has made it clear that the player wants a big move this summer, but he has also stated that Brighton won’t make it easy for him to leave.

Writing in his exclusive Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside, Romano said: “I expect Alexis Mac Allister to have a very good chance to make his top club move in the summer, this is the player’s idea.
“But I’m also sure Brighton will be tough in the negotiations, as always. There are really many clubs following Mac Allister, at this stage everything is premature. I don’t expect him to move for less than €60m.”
United could do with making changes in midfield, with Mac Allister a potential upgrade on the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay in that area of the pitch.
