Already linked with a move to the Serie A, it might be the case that 29-year-old SV Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch could be on the move within the Bundesliga. Germany’s “Sport Bild” tabloid reports that 1. FC Union Berlin are among the parties interested in acquiring Ducksch via a rumored €7.5 million release clause.
Ducksch has come into form during the second-half of the 2022/23 German Bundesliga campaign. The Dortmund-native has scored eight of his 11 goals on the season in the last 11 matchdays. The striker’s current deal with Bremen runs through the end of next season, meaning that the Hanseaten may wish to cash in on him this summer rather than lose him on a free.
Ducksch recorded his first-ever Bundesliga hat-trick this past weekend, Union – who kept themselves on course to qualify for next year’s Champions’ League with a 1-0 win over Gladbach on Sunday – will certainly be looking to upgrade at all positions ahead of next season. Ducksch’s estimated market worth lies at a career-high €6.5 million.
