Niclas Füllkrug is back on the pitch after a spell on the sidelines, but it’s unclear if he’ll be deemed fit enough to make Dortmund’s squad to face Freiburg.

Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic will make a late decision on Niclas Füllkrug’s availability for Saturday’s away game against Freiburg.

After missing Germany’s two friendlies against France and Japan with a thigh injury, Füllkrug was back on the pitch yesterday.

Despite his return to training, it’s unclear whether he will be deemed fit enough to be part of the squad to face Freiburg.

“Niclas Füllkrug was back on the pitch yesterday. Tomorrow we’ll decide if he’s fit enough for the matchday squad,” said Terzic at his pre-match press conference, where he also confirmed that Thomas Meunier and Mateu Morey remain out with injuries.

The BVB coach is determined to see an improvement against Freiburg after his side were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Heidenheim in their last game before the international break.

“Against Heidenheim we were clearly in control, but we lost it. These are things that must not happen to us. We will draw the right conclusions so that things will be much better on Saturday,” Terzic emphasized.
