An update on the future of Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has been provided on Sunday.
The subject of Ancelotti’s place in the dugout at the Santiago Bernabéu has of course long taken its place centre stage in the Spanish football headlines.
Until very recently, it was widely reported that the veteran tactician was all set to depart Madrid, upon the expiration of his contract in the summer of 2024.
This came amid further claims that Ancelotti had agreed to take up the reins of the Brazilian national team.
Media speculation over the last couple of weeks, however, has pointed towards a fresh contract offer being readied by Florentino Pérez and the Real Madrid hierarchy.
And now, as alluded to above, a fresh insight into the situation has been provided.
The info comes courtesy of transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has revealed that Ancelotti is yet to come to a decision on his future.
Speaking as part of his daily briefing with Caught Offside, Romano explained:
“I’m not currently hearing any new information on Ancelotti’s future – no changes for the manager, no concrete developments with Real Madrid or the Brazilian national team.
“Ancelotti will decide his future later, and for now is just focusing on the present, and on helping Real Madrid through the second half of the season. We’ll see when things change, but for now, there has been nothing substantial in either direction.”
