The respective recruitment teams at Barcelona and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the situation of Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané.
That’s according to Sport, who, on Sunday, have provided an insight into the mounting interest in the signature of the German international.
Sané, for his part, has enjoyed a scintillating start to the new campaign, racking up eight goals and six assists across 11 Bundesliga appearances.
Such form is understood to have convinced the Bayern hierarchy of the place of the former Manchester City man in their long-term plans, amid hopes of tying Sané down to a new contract.
To this point, however, the 27-year-old has refused to commit his future to the Bundesliga champions.
With his current terms at the Allianz Arena due to expire in the summer of 2025, a number of European heavyweights have therefore been alerted to Sané’s situation.
And two such clubs, as alluded to above, come in the form of Barcelona, and Real Madrid.
As per Sport’s report, Barca look particularly keen, amid fresh doubts over João Félix’s place in the project at Camp Nou.
A January transfer is likely out of the question, but keep an eye on the situation next summer, when Sané’s contract will have just 12 months to run.
