Austrian talent Marcel Sabitzer may find a solution to his present dilemma with his current club in the form of a move to a league rival. Germany’s “Sport Bild” tabloid reports that Borussia Dortmund are keen to take the former RB Leipzig star – who appears to have no future with the German record champions – on as a reinforcement.
Sport Bild goes on to claim that Dortmund are engaging in personal talks with the 29-year-old. Sabitzer obviously wishes to move to a team on which he has playing prospects. The league-runners up are in need of additional help in attacking midfield following Jude Bellingham’s departure. Felix Nmecha has already been brought in from VfL Wolfsburg, but a player of Bellingham’s caliber cannot simply be replaced by one actor.
According to the paper, Bayern have no objectives to a move and merely seek a transfer fee in the €15 million range. The player himself, on the other hand, may fancy a move abroad as there are numerous clubs reported to be interested in him. Bayern paid €15 million to acquire Saboteur from Leipzig in the autumn of 2021 and seem to have no intention of turning a profit on him.
