According to Foot Mercato, Bruno Cheyrou is demanding financial compensation to leave his role as recruitment director at Lyon. The former Liverpool player was expected to be moved into an advisory role at Eagle Football with a new sporting director to assume his roles at the Rhône club.
John Textor has already begun a sporting reshuffle at the Groupama Stadium following the departure of Jean-Michel Aulas and the transfer of Vincent Ponsot from the men’s team to the women’s team. Cheyrou was also expected to be one of those to be moved around as the Molenbeek owner composed his team to lead the sporting direction at Lyon. However, it appears Cheyrou is standing his ground and demanding a financial package to leave the club.
Textor is also looking to fill several positions at the Groupama Stadium with the desire to hire a sporting director and replace the soon-to-be departing interim president Santiago Cucci. The Crystal Palace minority shareholder has also offered Juninho the chance to return to the Groupama Stadium in an advisory role.
