Gladbach defender Ramy Bensebaini has been handed a two-match suspension and fined €15,000 after being sent off for two yellow cards in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Freiburg.
After seeing yellow for a free-kick, Bensebaini received an additional yellow card and was sent off after sarcastically applauding referee Benjamin Brand.
He then kicked a board and insulted Brand in French on his way to the dressing room.
The suspension means that Bensebaini will not be available for Gladbach until April after the international break.
