Arsenal winger Marquinhos set to join Norwich City on loan

Arsenal forward Marquinhos will join Norwich City for the remainder of the season, reports Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

The 19-year-old Brazilian joined the Gunners last summer but has not played regularly.

Marquinhos is set to undergo his medical with the Championship club, with a deal to be completed before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

He has played six games across all competitions for Arsenal this term, starting three times.

The north London club has added Trossard Leandro to their attack, which will further limit Marquinhos’ playing chances.

Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira are also ahead of him in Mikel Arteta’s pecking order.

The former Sao Paulo winger grabbed a goal and an assist on his debut for Arsenal last September.

However, he has not been able to continue his exploit in front of goal due to his limited chances.

Norwich are giving him a chance to adapt to English football, and it will be interesting to see how he fares.

The Canaries are currently sixth in the Championship table after 28 games.

However, there is stiff competition for the play-off spots, with just eight points between the third position and 16th.

Manager David Wagner has seen his side score 40 goals but could do with another quality attacker.

Marquinhos has the qualities to help boost Norwich’s promotion chances.

They cannot afford to miss out on finishing in the top six after getting relegated last term.

The Arsenal forward is hungry to show what he can do in England, and the Canaries could soon have a serious player on their hands.
