According to Fabrizio Romano, André Silva is on his way to La Liga club Real Sociedad.
The forward is set to sign his contract today (Wednesday) after completing his medical and, according to Mundo Deportivo, arrived in Donostia on Tuesday.
Silva will join Imanol Alguacil’s team on a one-year loan deal from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and La Real will reserve an option to buy the 27-year-old at the end of the season. He is currently valued at €15m.
Alguacil’s team are in Mexico for preseason and Silva is carrying a muscle injury that has prevented him from playing friendly matches this summer, something that could also rule him out of the first game of the new season.
His last game dates back to May 20, against Bayern Munich, in which he played 69 minutes for Leipzig. Last season he scored nine goals in 44 games in a total of 2,582 minutes on the field.
In 2020-21 at Eintracht Frankfurt, he netted 29 goals in 34 games between Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal.
