Adrien Truffert will miss the rest of the season for Rennes

According to Le Parisien and Stade Rennais Online, Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert (21) will miss the rest of the season, the defender requiring surgery on his ankle. Both outlets report that Truffert will be out of action for three to four months.

Truffert sustained the injury during a match against Paris Saint-Germain on March 19th and was forced to withdraw from the Under-21s France squad as a result.

The 21-year-old’s participation in the upcoming Under-21 European Championship, scheduled to take place in Romania and Georgia from June 21st to July 8th, is also in doubt. A return for the defender to action is currently scheduled for June or July.

The Liège born youngster has made 28 appearances in Ligue 1 this season for the Noir et Rouge, registering six assists. Truffert has also made eight appearances in the Europa League this season for Rennes, who were knocked out at the play-off stage.
