AC Milan eye summer move for Sheffield United star Iliman Ndiaye

AC Milan have identified Sheffield United’s highly-rated star Iliman Ndiaye as one of the top targets for the summer, reports Foot Mercato.

Ndiaye has been one of the best players in the Championship this season, netting 13 goals and nine assists.

The Senegalese international also had an impressive game against West Bromwich Albion last night, with the victory confirming the Blades’ promotion to the Premier League.

With his current deal expiring in the summer of 2024, some of Europe’s top clubs are preparing to go for him this summer.

United’s delicate financial situation also means there are higher chances for the Championship outfit to sell Ndiaye.

Milan are attentive to Ndiaye’s situation but could face tough competition from Everton, who have been tracking him for a long time.

The Toffees had an offer for the 23-year-old turned down in January but are determined to land him this summer. However, it depends on whether the Merseysiders escape relegation in the Premier League this season.

Rossoneri are also said to be keeping tabs on Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby to bolster their attacking department ahead of next season.

However, the French forward looks a long shot due to the expensive transfer fee he could command and competition from financial powerhouses like Paris Saint Germain and Newcastle United.

Milan face a busy summer ahead, with the priorities turning out to be signing an attacking midfielder and a striker due to the uncertain futures of Brahim Diaz and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Diaz’s loan spell expires at the end of the season, and his parent club Real Madrid are keen on recalling him back despite Milan’s interest in signing him permanently.

Empoli’s young sensation Tommaso Baldanzi has emerged as a potential replacement for the Spanish midfielder.

Ibrahimovic also appears to be heading towards the exit door, with his recurring injury problems proving to be a big concern for Rossoneri.

The Italian giants have lined up Folarin Balogun, Alvaro Morata and Noah Okafor as potential successors to the Swedish international.
