Malik Scott, a former boxer and trainer, drew a lot of attention at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony in London.

Malik was accompanying his wife Kate, who is very well known in the football world, on the red carpet. Kate, 45, hosted the event with fellow CBS Sports star Thierry Henry. The two were on stage when England’s Harry Kane was crowned the Ballon d’Or winner.

But social media attention wasn’t too focused on Kate’s impeccable performance on the stage, but rather on her partner.

Malik caught the eye, not only because he was with Kate, but also due to his unique appearance. Covered in tattoos, including on his head, and towering over everyone else on the red carpet, the 46-year-old drew the attention of many viewers.

Well, Malik has his own history in the sporting world. In 2000, he turned professional as a heavyweight boxer and built an impressive career. During his 16-year career in the ring, the Philadelphia-born athlete retired with a record of 38 wins, one draw and three losses.

One of his three losses came against ‘The Bronze Bomber’ Deontay Wilder, whom he went on to coach after retiring. Malik was in Wilder’s corner when he faced Tyson Fury for the third time in 2021.

Speaking to Thunderpick in 2025, Malik revealed that he had even trained Kate in the ring. However, he stated that he didn’t want her to have a fight.

He said: “I’ve been in love with Kate the last few years, and the love has got deeper and deeper and deeper, and at one time Kate boxing was something I was entertaining.

Malik added that the couple had considered fights for Kate in the past: I’m cool with just training my wife on pads. We were looking at fights together, but I never want to see her box.

“I wouldn’t say I persuaded her but my energy speaks for itself. It’s not something that I bring up. It’s not something that I entertain.”

After meeting at a Fury vs Wilder event that Kate was presenting at in 2021, the pair eventually married in a private ceremony in 2024.

While his boxing past is quite well known, fans were stunned to learn the other money-making avenue Malik went down in the past.

Before meeting Kate, Malik started up an OnlyFans account with then-girlfriend and model, Nancy Ramirez. The couple shared photoshoots together, while explicit videos involving the pair leaked online.
