AC Milan and Barcelona have reached an agreement for Sergiño Dest, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The USMNT right-back will sign a 1-year loan deal with a possible 4-year deal if the buy option is triggered.
Dest has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Spanish side Villarreal but is now set to join the Italian champions before the end of the transfer window.
He fell out of favour under head coach Xavi Hernández at Camp Nou and wanted regular game time ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar this winter.
Barcelona are looking to find a replacement for the 21-year-old American and they are considering submitting a bid for Borussia Dortmund’s Thomas Meunier. However, the German outfit have set a price tag between €15m and €20m, which Barça are not willing to meet.
Dest joined the Catalan club from Ajax in October 2020 for a reported fee of €21m.
