A decision on Jude Bellingham’s future is imminent

Ruhr Nachrichten reports that a decision on the future of Jude Bellingham is imminent on whether he will stay at Borussia Dortmund or leave in the summer.

The two options for Bellingham are clear. He can stay an extra year in Dortmund while he may become their highest-paid player, a contract extension could include a release clause which could change his plans in the future. Dortmund’s recent poor form could also impact Bellingham’s decision as within a month they have been knocked out of the Champions League and DFB Pokal with tame performances while in the league they were overrun by Bayern Munich.

The other option is that the 19-year-old leaves in the summer as he has plenty of interest from Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Bellingham has struggled on the pitch lately, he has recently been playing with a knee injury which has seen his leg heavily tapped before every game, while the negotiations over his future off the pitch may have also impacted him. This season, Bellingham has played 36 times for Dortmund missing only two games one through suspension and while sitting on the bench in the other. During that time he has scored 10 goals and assisted seven.
