Le Parisien are reporting that Zinédine Zidane has rejected an approach from Paris Saint-Germain to replace Christophe Galtier in the dugout at the Parc des Princes.
Whilst Galtier’s departure hasn’t yet been officialised by PSG, it has been widely reported that the former OGC Nice manager, who only arrived at the club in the summer, has already been informed by Sporting Advisor Luís Campos that he is no longer Les Parisiens’ manager.
As revealed by sources contacted by Get French Football News in May, Zidane was PSG’s first choice, just as he was last year before Galtier’s arrival. Get French Football News reported at the time that PSG weren’t getting positive responses from Zidane, despite making a proposal that would put him in the top three highest-paid coaches in football currently.
Le Parisien now reports that Zidane was approached by PSG in recent weeks, but has rejected their advances. Since Zidane’s rejection, the club have made approaches for alternative targets, including Julian Nagelsmann. Luis Enrique and Xabi Alonso also feature on PSG’s shortlist.
