Mario Krischel of Germany’s preeminent footballing publication reports that Kelvin Yeboah’s soon-to-be-confirmed move to FC Augsburg may also be coupled with announcement that Florian Niederlechner is headed to Hertha early.

Hertha BSC have already confirmed Florian Niederlechner’s capture on a free transfer this summer after the conclusion of the current campaign. There have nevertheless been some whispers in the German press that Fredi Bobic and the Hertha administrative team have been working on a deal to bring the 32-year-old to the capital during the current transfer window.
FC Augsburg, thanks to the signing of Croat talent Dion Beljo and the (medical pending) soon-to-be-confirmed signing of Kelvin Yeboah now have a surfeit of strikers on their roster. Florian Niederlechner’s four league goals thus far in the 2022/23 campaign matter less in light of the two new arrivals, and the fact that starters Ermedin Demirovic and Mërgim Berisha have netted a combined total of eight.
Mario Krischel of Kicker magazine speculates that Augsburg may now be fully willing to let Niederlechner go this winter. Naturally, a suitable transfer fee would still be due. Niederlechner maintains a current estimated market worth of €2.2 million. Bobic and the Hertha front office have thus far kept the purse-strings tight, not spending a single cent on an incoming player thus far this January.
