VfL Wolfsburg are interested in VfB Stuttgart centre-back Hiroki Ito, according to Kicker.
Per the report, the 23-year-old is seen as a possible replacement for Micky van de Ven, who has emerged as a key figure for ‘Die Wölfe’ this season.
21-year-old van de Ven recently admitted in an interview with DPA that he could imagine a move away from Volkswagen Arena.
“If at some point a really good team comes from Spain or England, then I will think about it,” van de Ven said.
“For me, it was always a dream to play in the Bundesliga. But playing in the Premier League is also a dream of mine.”
Both Ito and van de Ven are under contract until 2025.
