Looking for a new sporting director following the sacking of Sebastian Schindzielorz, VfL Wolfsburg have reportedly made contact with TSG Hoffenheim managing director for sport Andreas Schicker.
According to Kicker, initial talks have already taken place between Wolfsburg and Schicker, with further discussions expected in the coming days.
There has been turmoil in the management ranks at Hoffenheim lately. The two other managing directors, Frank Briel and Markus Schütz, have left the club amid disputes, while chairman Jörg Albrecht has stepped down for health reasons.
Wolfsburg could seek to take advantage of this chaotic situation to bring the former Sturm Graz boss to the Volkswagen Arena.
Sportingly, however, Hoffenheim have enjoyed a decent start to the season, sitting sixth after 10 games. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, languish in 14th following a dismal run of form.
