VfL Wolfsburg will have to manage without Patrick Wimmer for the rest of the year, Bild claims.

Patrick Wimmer will sit out for the rest of the year, according to Bild.


The 22-year-old winger will undergo surgery early next week after suffering an ankle injury against Augsburg.

Wimmer is not expected to be back in training before January.

The Austrian international has made seven appearances for Wolfsburg this season.
