As reported by Sky Germany, Bayern Munich are monitoring Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Rumours linking Kvaratskhelia to the record champions sparked when Georgian national team coach Willy Sagnol hinted about potential interest in the 21-year-old during the international break. The former Bayern defender told the Italian daily Il Mattino:
“Khvicha Kvaratskhelia already plays for a top club at Napoli, but there are football giants like Real Madrid, FC Bayern, and Barcelona who are interested in him.”
However, despite concern about the legitimacy of Sagnol’s statement, Sky Germany have confirmed that Der Rekordmeister are considering a potential move for Kvaratskhelia in the future. Nevertheless, they are not currently in negotiations with Napoli.
In Leroy Sané, Bayern currently have a winger who is performing at an exceptional rate with nine goals and seven assists in all competitions. The 27-year-old has also been able to strike up an irresistible relationship with England captain Harry Kane.
The pair have been able to record the most goal involvements between two players in Europe’s top five leagues this season. Therefore, while Kvaratskhelia is not a priority for Der Rekordmeister yet, with Sané’s contract set to expire in 2025, they could be considering the Napoli winger as a future replacement for the 27-year-old if he were to depart this summer.
