Barcelona star Andreas Christensen is growing increasingly frustrated with the recent actions of head coach Xavi Hernández.
That’s according to Pol Ballús of The Athletic, who has on Wednesday provided an insight into developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
The subject of Xavi’s position in the Barcelona dugout, of course, has returned to the forefront of the headlines over the course of the last week.
This comes after his side – amid a less than convincing recent run of form – were put to the sword in alarming fashion by arch rivals Real Madrid in the final of the Spanish Super Cup.
Murmurs of discontent, not only across the Blaugrana’s fanbase, but squad, too, have in turn begun to mount.
And, as alluded to above, this evening, an insight into one such Barca star who appears to be less than impressed with the recent behaviour of his headmaster comes in the form of Andreas Christensen.
As per the aforementioned Pol Ballús, stopper Christensen ‘has become disgruntled’ with his role in Catalunya.
Such frustration is attributed to Xavi’s insistence on dropping the Dane to the bench, when all of his central defensive options are fit and available for selection.
Amid recent links with a return to the Premier League, such news will no doubt come as yet another source of concern for the Barcelona faithful.
