Radamel Falcao has a contract with Rayo Vallecano until 2024, so could be part of the club’s squad next season, as reported by EFE and AS.
Rayo want the veteran striker to stay in Vallecas, unless an offer that excites both parties arrives and an agreement is reached.
The 37-year-old Colombia international only played 595 minutes in 27 league games this season. He netted two goals, against Athletic Club and Atlético Madrid, which resulted in a point at the Metropolitano.
Upon his arrival at Rayo, he scored in three consecutive matches, with an efficiency that won over the fans, although his most decisive goal was against Barcelona, giving his side a famous victory.
However, the reality of this season has been very different. Injuries and the arrival of fellow forward Raúl de Tomás condemned him to a more secondary role.
Falcao became Andoni Iraola’s third striker, behind Sergio Camello (6 goals) and RdT (4 goals), who alternated in the forward line. The Colombian only started three games (Mallorca, Atlético and Celta), but it looks like he will be available for pre-season with Rayo.
