An insight into the predicted knock-on effect of João Félix remaining with Barcelona beyond the upcoming summer has been provided this evening.
The info comes by way of Diario Sport, who have linked the future of the Portuguese international with that of on-loan Barca starlet Ansu Fati.
Wide-man Ansu is of course currently in the midst of a season-long stint in the Premier League, with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Upon the conclusion of this spell, the powers that be at Barcelona are understood to be open to moving the Spanish international on on a permanent basis, albeit with as much depending largely on his form over the coming four months.
Ansu himself, on the other hand, is in no two minds, desperate to return and fight for his place under the as of yet unconfirmed incoming manager at the Camp Nou.
The chances of as much coming to fruition, however, hinge on the future of another on-loan attacker.
As confirmed by the aforementioned Sport, should Barcelona choose to extend João Félix’s stay with the club – whether on loan or a permanent basis – beyond the summer, then Ansu ‘will not have a place’ in Catalunya.
As things stand, the Blaugrana making Félix’s arrival permanent looks unlikely, although a 2nd paid loan can not be ruled out.
