West Ham revive interest in Julen Lopetegui after latest AC Milan delay

West Ham United have revived their interest in Julen Lopetegui as they look to sign a replacement for David Moyes.

This is according to The Guardian who report the Hammers have revived their interest after learning that AC Milan are having second thoughts about appointing the Spaniard.

The Italian giants have had a disappointing 2023-24 season and want to part company with manager Stefano Pioli.

They looked very close to appointing Lopetegui as their new head coach, with the former Real Madrid boss also keen on the job.

But it now emerges Milan are having second thoughts about appointing the 57-year-old. A section of the club’s supporters were reportedly opposed to the move.

David Moyes delivered Europa Conference League success at West Ham but he is not expected to continue as manager as many fans are not happy with his boring style of play.

The East Londoners are unlikely to qualify for Europe next season as they are sitting eighth in the league table with four points behind Newcastle United.

The Hammers played out a 2-2 draw with Liverpool in their previous outing and now face Chelsea, Luton Town and Manchester City, with all three fixtures available to watch via Premier League live streams.

Lopetegui led Wolverhampton Wanderers to Premier League safety and a 13th-place finish after taking over the club in November 2022.

But he left his position in the summer as he was reportedly unhappy with the club’s financial situation.
