According to The Athletic, Olympique Lyonnais have lodged a £15m bid to sign West Ham United winger Saïd Benrahma (28).
Lyon have been in the market for a winger throughout the transfer window. Benrahma has been a target, as has Arnaut Danjuma (25), who is currently on loan at Everton from Villarreal. Speaking to L’Équipe, OL owner John Textor admitted that a deal to sign the latter was complicated by the fact that he was already on loan at Everton, and the Premier League club have no motivation to release the Dutch international.
OL now look to have stepped up their attempts to sign Benrahma, whom West Ham are willing to sell this January. Whilst Lyon’s £15m – plus add-ons – bid is yet to be accepted by the Hammers, there is optimism that a deal can be done. It is thought that Benrahma himself is keen on a move to the Groupama Stadium.
