Jens Stage has suffered a foot injury and will be out for weeks.
Werder Bremen have been rocked by a significant injury blow in their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign.
The Green-Whites announced on Monday that Jens Stage has suffered a foot injury that will keep him sidelined for several weeks.
Stage was forced off during Werder’s pre-season friendly in Verden and has now been diagnosed with a stress reaction in the metatarsal area.
“It’s important to give the foot time to rest now and treat it properly,” said new Werder head coach Horst Steffen.
“That’s why Jens won’t be travelling with us to the training camp in Zillertal – he’ll remain in Bremen to undergo the full range of therapies available while continuing to work on his fitness. We’re optimistic that he’ll be back soon.”
