Jonathan Burkardt didn’t mince his words after Eintracht Frankfurt suffered an embarrassing 6-0 defeat to RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
“I find it difficult to accept a team performance like that,” the Eintracht Frankfurt striker said in a post-match interview, according to Hessenschau.
“Losing 6-0 in Leipzig really hurts. I feel especially sorry for the boys and girls who travelled here and had to witness that,” Burkardt continued.
“We were not compact as a team at all, we lost every individual duel at the back, and ended up looking like a school team. If everyone doesn’t take responsibility, we’ll have problems again next week. The senior players failed once again today, too.”
Burkardt and his Eintracht teammates will be eager to bounce back when they face 1. FC Köln on Friday.
