RB Leipzig extended their unbeaten run to five games with a 1-1 draw away at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Ridle Baku praised his team after the match, which he felt underlined RB Leipzig’s status as one of the Bundesliga’s top sides.
“Many teams will drop points here. I’m very, very proud of the team and the performance,” Baku told Sky.
“We finally play like real men,” he added, highlighting the team’s willingness to track back defensively.
“That was something we were missing a bit last year; this year we’re doing it – and we’re doing it consistently.
“We belong to the best teams in the league. That’s the level we want to play at. We want to assert ourselves against every team,” he emphasised.
Leipzig currently sit third, five points behind leaders Bayern Munich, who handed them a 6-0 defeat in the season opener.
