RB Leipzig welcomed back star players David Raum and Xavi Simons from lengthy injury spells in Sunday’s 4-2 win over Werder Bremen.
The latter in particular played a key role with a brace to help Die Roten Bullen to three vital points.
After the game, Leipzig coach Marco Rose was full of praise for the way Simons made an immediate impact following his return from injury.
“We know that Xavi is a difference-maker. I said to him right after the game: ‘Great job’. And I don’t mean today’s game, but the way he came back from his injury. The way he worked after his injury and the way he came back,” Rose said, according to Kicker.
“It’s extraordinary after three months. I can also include Raum in that, he also played a very good game today.”
Xavi Simons has now scored five goals in 12 appearances for Leipzig in all competitions this season.
