Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven has responded to reports linking him with a move to Liverpool by saying he would like to leave if the right opportunity arises.
Micky van de Ven has admitted that he would like to leave Wolfsburg if the right opportunity comes along.
“Of course I feel very much at home in Wolfsburg. So I don’t mind playing one more year in Wolfsburg. But if I have the chance to leave, I would like to do that,” the centre-back admitted in an interview with ESPN.
Van de Ven has been heavily linked with Liverpool, who recently appointed Joerg Schmadtke – the man who brought him to Wolfsburg from Volendam – as their new sporting director.
“I read everything, of course,” said van de Ven when asked about the Liverpool rumours.
“I have good contact with my agent, so I know about it. I’ll see what happens this summer.
First, he wants to win the European Championship title with the U21s. After that, he could take the next step in his career.
“Hopefully, yes. Hopefully. That would be nice,” he admitted.
