Valencia have identified Sergi Canós as a transfer option this summer, Relevo are reporting. The Spaniard has been at Brentford for six years and made 210 appearances for the club. Thomas Frank did not see him to be at the required level last season and Brentford sent him to Olympiacos on loan, where he scored four goals in six league games.
Valencia do not have a large budget, but feel that Canós can be acquired for a cheap fee. After the departures of Justin Kluivert and Samuel Lino, they have more leeway and feel that they can bring Canós to Mestalla.
Canós is keen on the move, and pushing for it. His contract with Brentford was due to expire this summer but the club triggered a clause to extend him. This extension was done against the player’s will, and the relationship between player and club is rapidly deteriorating. A transfer would benefit everyone, and Valencia are primed to pounce.
