As reported by Relevo, Liverpool have outlined their intention to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, however the La Liga side are demanding more than €30m plus variables for the goalkeeper. The Merseyside club are also open to immediately loaning the keeper to Bournemouth.
In recent days, the English side have been evaluating the Georgian player and have made an initial enquiry about the conditions of a potential deal. Liverpool have no doubts about Mamardashvili’s qualities and Valencia already know that the English side are very serious with their interest in the player.
The Mestalla club believe that the financial package verbally offered by Liverpool is very lucrative with no other club to date having put such numbers on the table. Despite this, Valencia believe they can drive the price up further by asking Liverpool for more up-front as well as easy bonuses.
Liverpool are willing to negotiate on the terms of the Spanish club, after Martín Zubimendi firmly rejected them just days ago. Now that their pursuit of the midfielder is over, the Reds are fully focused on the signing of Mamardashvili, and Valencia are aware that they have the funds available having been ready to activate Zubimendi’s €60m Real Sociedad release clause.
