Germany’s preeminent footballing publication reports that 1. FC Union Berlin are seeking to re-acquire former loanee Petar Musa.

SL Benfica striker Petar Musa is apparently back on the 1. FC Union Berlin target list. Berlin’s Köpenick capital city side once took the Croatian international on loan during the second half of the 2020/21 campaign. The then Slavia Prague professional scored one goal in 14 Bundesliga appearances for Union during that short-term loan-stint.
Musa moved to the Portuguese champions in the summer of 2022, where he proceeded to score 22 goals in 69 league appearances. He has nevertheless lost his starting role under German trainer Roger Schmidt this season, making only five league starts through 15 rounds. Musa has netted four tallies this year.
The Lisbon-based side reportedly demanded a transfer fee of €15 million for him last offseason. That sum could be considerably lower now. Musa currently maintains an estimated market worth of €8 million in the latest transfermarkt update. A loan deal for the forward – still under contract with Benfica through 2027 – might also be an option.
